This section gives you all of the possible results that you could have gotten on the quiz and also some additional details about each of them.
Acromantula
Acromantula’s are essentially giant spiders that can talk and have a taste for human flesh. Fans were introduced to these creatures in the Chamber of Secrets, where we first learned about Hagrid’s pet, Aragog. The Acromantula also serves as the boggart of Ron Weasley as he is terrified of spiders.
Basilisk
Basilisk’s are essentially giant snakes and if you look one directly in the eyes, it will kill you. A Basilisk was responsible for killing Moaning Myrtle.
Fans were introduced to these creatures in the Chamber of Secrets, where it played a major role. Harry Potter ended up slaying the Basilisk that was in the Chamber of Secrets, using the sword of Gryffindor.
Cat
Cats are one of the animals that students can bring as pets with them to Hogwarts. We saw several of them during the series, including Crookshanks and Mrs. Norris. We also got to see Professor McGonagall transform into a cat during the series as it is her Animagus form.
Dragon
Fans were first introduced to dragons (in the series) during the Triwizard Tournament in the Goblet of Fire. The first task had participants retrieve a golden egg from the mother dragon. This included four different varieties, a Hungarian Horntail, a Chinese Fireball, a Swedish Short-Snout, and a Welsh Green. We also got to see a dragon in Deather Hallows: Part 2, where one was guarding Gringott’s.
Hippogriff
Hippogriff’s are creatures that have the head of a giant eagle and the rest of the body of a horse. Fans were introduced to them during the Prisoner of Azkaban. This came when Buckbeak attacked Draco Malfoy and ended up getting sentenced to death. Buckbeak ended up getting saved by Harry and Hermione Granger.
House Elf
A House-elf is a magical being that serves Witches and Wizards. They are known to be incredibly loyal to their master and can only be freed when they are presented with clothing. Dobby is the best-known house-elf in the series and he plays a decent role.
Owl
Owls are one of the animals that students can bring as pets with them to Hogwarts. They are also used to deliver parcels and mail to witches and wizards. We saw several of them during the series, which includes Hedwig, who serves as Harry Potter’s pet for most of the series.
Phoenix
Phoenix’s are magical birds that have healing power and live very long lives. Albus Dumbledore’s phoenix, Fawkes, played a pretty big part in the series. Fawkes saved Harry’s butt a few times, including against the Basilisk.
Thestral
Thestral’s are essentially winged horses and are only visible to those who have witnessed death. We are introduced to them in the Order of Phoenix after Harry is able to see them following the death of Cedric Diggory.

Here are some other magical creatures that were not included on our quiz but we wanted to include.
Centaur
Centaur’s play a small role in the series and they live in the Forbidden Forest. The best known Centaur is Firenze, who saved Harry.
Cornish Pixie
Cornish Pixie’s play a small role in the second movie in the series. We first learn about them during Professor Lockhart’s class.
Dementor
Dementor’s are definitely one of the most dangerous and frightening creatures in the entire series. If you get caught in a Dementor’s Kiss, it will suck your soul out of you. They are used to defend Azkaban prison.
Goblin
Goblin’s play a sizable role in the series. They are best known for running Gringotts Wizarding Bank and are very intelligent creatures.
Ghost
Ghost’s play a small role in the series. Some examples include Moaning Myrtle, Nearly Headless Nick, and more.
Troll
Troll’s play a large role in the first movie, where one got loose in Hogwarts and nearly killed Hermione. The Golden Trio were able to subdue the Troll, which was an impressive feat at their age.
Unicorn
Unicorn play a very small role in the series. In the first movie, two Unicorns are shown dead and it was revealed that Professor Quirrell killed them in order to try and revive Lord Voldemort.
